Here are some points you can think about when creating a blog topic.

• Identify your interests: Think about topics you enjoy discussing, researching, and writing about. The more passionate you are, the easier it will be to keep writing consistently.
• Research your audience: Consider who might be interested in your blog and what they’d like to learn. Know your audience.
• Find a unique angle: Try to make your blog stand out by offering a fresh perspective or specialized focus.For example, if you’re into travel, consider niche topics like "budget travel for families" or "adventure travel for beginners."

Step 2: Select a Blogging Platform

When you start a blog, you need a blogging platform to host your blog.

It’s similar to a kitchen in a restaurant. Like, when you cook food, you need a kitchen to do it.

So you need a blogging platform where you can write, edit, and then post your blogs.

Thankfully, we have Shopify that is the highly recommended platform for this job. It is also the platform I used to host this blog you are reading.

The great thing is Shopify has so many features that allows you to create nice and great looking blogs.

However, we still need one more thing before we can start setting up and that is Web Hosting.

Step 3: Get a Web Hosting

Web hosting is the service that allows you to publish your website online, making it accessible to anyone on the internet.

Essentially, a web hosting provider rents out server space, where your website’s files, images, and content are stored, so visitors can view them.

Luckily, Namecheap is a trusted and affordable provider, makes the process straightforward for a beginner. So, let me walk you through for the set up.

The first thing is go to Namecheap.com and register an account.

After you setup your account, go to the main page of their website and get a domain name.

When getting a domain name, make sure to get a name that is relevant to the blog type or service you provide. A link below shows you how to get a domain name.

After getting a domain name with Namecheap’s web hosting, its now time to set up your blog website with Shopify.

Step 4: Set Up Your Blog with Shopify

After getting a domain name with Namecheap’s web hosting, it’s now time to set up your blog website with Shopify.

The first thing that we need to do is to sign up for an account with Shopify.

When signing up, Shopify will ask you several questions to understand what type of website you are planning to build, either commercial website, company website or for this case a blog website.

After you sign up, select a plan (Shopify offers $1 for 1 month trial) to set you up which is a great deal. If you are not yet sure about the plan, you can still continue using Shopify by clicking 'I’ll decide later.'

After setting up your account on Shopify, our online Shopify account is now ready. We can now add the domain name we got from Namecheap.

We can do that by clicking on the Add domain' button on the main page.

Then click on the 'Connect existing domain' button.

And then copy and paste the domain name we got from Namecheap.

In here, make sure you copied the right domain name otherwise it will not work. So make sure to double check and copy the right domain.

Then click on the connect existing domain button. In here, Shopify will asks for domain verification.

To do this, the first thing we can do is go back to Namecheap. Click on 'Domain list' panel.

And then 'Domain' tab. Then go to 'Advanced DNS' tab.

You can see in this tab that we need information for 'CNAME Record' and 'TXT Record.'

We can get this information back in our Shopify.

Copy these values and paste it to your Namecheap CNAME Record and TXT Record. Again, make sure you copied the right values.

After this, our Shopify account is now connected to our website host Namecheap. So, at this point our website is now ready and we can start creating blog posts.

Step 5: Start Creating Blog Post on

Now that everything is setup, we can start create blogs and this is really the fun part.

To do this, go to your shopify account. On the left side of the screen, go to 'Online Store' and click on 'Blog posts'. Then click on 'Create blog post.'

This will take you to blog post panel where you can write your blog post. At the top, enter your blog post title. In the middle, you can enter your blog post body content.

As I mentioned earlier, create a catchy title that grabs attention and stands out from other blog posts. Also, ensure your blog content includes keywords that align with your title, as this will help improve your SEO ranking.

Then, below this, you can find other important sections which are the Excerpt, Search Engine Preview. On the side, you can also find the Visibility, Featured Image, and Organization.

These are very important sections you have to fill in. The Excerpt tells about a short brief summary of your blog.

The Search Engine Preview is the description used by search engines to find your blog. Be mindful of your wording here, as search engines rely on keywords to locate your post.

Make sure to use a clear and accurate title and description. Also, keep your URL links short and concise for better SEO.

Next, make sure to fill in important sections like Visibility, Featured Image, and Organization.

The Visibility option lets you schedule your blog post for future dates.

For the Featured Image, upload high-quality photos that visually represent your content.

In the Organization section, add the author’s name, blog category, and relevant keywords.

Once these sections are complete, click 'Save' at the bottom, and your blog post will be published.

Congratulations, you’ve just created your first blog post!

To get started, go to your online store, click on ‘Themes,’ then select ‘Customize.’

This will take you to the Shopify website builder page.

On the left side, you’ll see the Website Editor, and on the right, your website preview area.

The Website Editor allows you to create, add, edit, or delete sections of your site.

For instance, you can add an email signup form if you want readers to subscribe after reading your blog.

You can also insert a multi-row section to display related products alongside your blog posts.

Essentially, you can add as many sections as needed, and then fill in all the details, so your r eaders can see them on your blog.

Once you’ve customized your blog post and published it, you can share it across your social media platforms.
